Stephen Glover in a column for the Daily Mail - "Yes Israel has been sorely provoked. But there can be only one winner if it carries on like this".
Basically the gist is that Israel shouldn't have launched a military campaign because it's playing into the hands of Hamas and their bankrollers, Iran, and giving them more propoganda material to use against them.
So they should have just sat back and accepted the fact that daily rocket attacks are to be the norm? Great advice, especially if you don't have to live in the areas that are subject to these attacks.
I believe the philosophy here is that if you can't see it, it's not happening and we don't have to worry about it.
The obvious and most fatal flaw in this logic exposes the fault line that runs through most Western media establishments which is WE DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING for Jihadis to produce propoganda! We could withdraw completely from Iraq and Afghanistan, Israelis could all jump onto a ship and leave the land for the Palestinians to fight over - it wouldn't make a scrap of difference! According to their holy book, we are the bad guys and until we convert to Islam and sacrifice all free will, we are and will remain to be viable targets.
What they inevitably fail to grasp is the significance of Israel as a precursor to our own fate. It's a geographically convenient starting point for a global movement that has the world in its sights. Hitler could have only dreamed of having the same amount of influence in the world that the Islamists currently have. If Hitler had the internet and the media, we'd all be speaking German!
For what it is worth, here is my comment that I submitted - I very much doubt it will be published!
"I think you are being a little short sighted, perhaps even nieve, with regards to the propoganda victory. Regardless of what Israel or any Western state do or don't do, Jihadi propoganda will be ongoing. Truth matters not to these people who will twist any event to suit their own agenda.
The media can do more to shut down the combined Jihadi threat to Western society than any military manoevre in any theatre of operation, instead you collectively offer up airtime and column inch after column inch of opinion, mostly in condemnation of the disproportionality. If Iran are rubbing their hands together with glee, it's not because Israel has chosen to react militarliy to Hamas's blatant provocation, but because the Western media is doing their job for them in making Israel's plight unjustifiable."
